Good news: Insomnia was not a problem this month.
Bad news: Insomnia was not a problem this month because at the start of the month someone gave me the world's nastiest cold at the gym which knocked me down for like a week and a half, and then I went to three concerts in four days which was also exhausting, and then obviously we got sick from one of the concerts. Because why not.
I'm not particularly mad about getting sick at the concert, but I am still pissed about the person who got me sick in the gym steam room. That is an optional activity and you can't actually sweat out a cold like that. Don't be that girl.
Stats
★ I went to the gym 7 times. I wanted to work on my bench press this month but only had one self-guided day. So December is going to be a bench month as well.
★ I read 0 books. It turns out I do most of my reading at the gym spa.
★ I watched 1 movie.
- The Truman Show (Liked)
★ I finished 1 craft or personal projects.
I thought that I finished this shirt in September, but it turns out that when I finished the collar I made it too small to fit over my head. When I tried to wear it this month I couldn't get it on. So I had to throw it in a corner for a few days to work up the courage to redo the collar and then redo it about four times to get it to fit. These photos are from before the reworking.
I'm not a great at knitting so this shirt was a struggle. I actually knit it twice because the first time I did it the lace was too loose and it bulged out and was basically a tent when I put it on.
My husband asked why I didn't just knit something easier and the answer is because that would be BORING. So instead I took a chill activity and made it very stressful.
Pattern is the Shark Tooth Tee by Hook Mountain Handmade.
I also mended some holes in my winter gear and leggings. Is this a recession indicator? Probably.
★ I attended 3 concerts.
This is an uncharacteristic and unsustainable number for me. The second night of All Time Low is maybe the most fun I've ever had at a concert so I'd do it again.
- Waterparks, Chloe Moriondo, and Jhariah on 11/20
- All Time Low, Mayday Parade, Four Year Strong, and The Paradox on 11/22
- All Time Low and Mayday Parade on 11/23
★ I finished 1 video game.
- Assassin's Creed 1. A THROWBACK. It was fun to play on the Steam Deck.
★ I made 2 Black Friday purchases.
- A cursed joke item from Cards Against Humanity which I will not be repeating here. (Not the Jeremy Renner book).
- The DLC for Fallout 4 because I decided I wanted to spend another 100 hours playing it and it happened to be on sale.
Spending under $20 on Black Friday is another recession indicator. I love a little treat but wasn't feeling it this year. The deals aren't good or real, and I'm in my underconsumption era.
I felt like I lost a lot of the month to napping/staring into space because I didn't have the brainpower to do anything/generally being miserable that I wasn't able to go to the gym so this recap has helped me remember that even my hibernating month was a good one.
But seriously, don't come to the gym near me if you're sick.
