Music

I've been on a mission the past few months. In February I finally got fed up with how the Spotify* algorithm was deciding to show me new music and have taken it upon myself to better curate my account. I listened to every song I clicked like on, decided if I still liked it, and put every artist and band that I liked into a spreadsheet. I'm now working through those artist's catalogs.

Since I'm already doing the work for fun, might as well share it here.

* I'm aware of the Spotify boycott and am already streamlining/moving/decluttering other aspects of my digital life. These lists are, in part, helping me figure out what physical media I want to be on the hunt for.
** I took the summary/answer code from Lilith.

I saw ATL at Boston Calling and it altered my brain chemistry. I went from being a Dear Maria/Weightless/Monsters girlie to a superfan over the span of that set, man.

We need to talk about his cover of City High's "What Would You Do" because my conflicted feelings on that are why he doesn't get a heart.

I genuinely like their music but have relegated them to secondhand vinyl-only after their NFT foray and signing on to play Riyadh.

A corner of my brain will always be dedicated to Meteora. I gave myself some space to decide if I thought the Emily backlash was warranted or misogyny and unfortunately went with warranted. Hunting for that secondhand Meteora vinyl.

I think TLOAS is one of the most blatant money-grubbing acts I have ever seen and that it is utterly devoid of artistry or thought. Aaron Dessen and Jack Antonoff can cook, though, so I have some vinyl I'm looking for.
